Filmed entirely in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl revolves around the privileged prep school teens on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and the anonymous blogger, Gossip Girl, who provides them with the latest gossip about their exclusive circle.

For Matthew Settle, one of the stars in the series (Rufus), working in New York is right up his alley. "I’m a huge fan of living in New York and I liked the script. It’s kind of a dream, being surrounded by good artists and writers. It makes the show just fantastic."

For him, his role provided a kind of crash course in parenting, which isn't at all bad considering he and his wife are currently thinking about having their own bundle of joy in real life.

Summer is fast approaching. Luckily for us, there’s just one big event left before we can slip into our bikinis, lather on the SPF and atone for our sins from this past year. Lily and Bart’s wedding will surely be the event of the year (if not the century). Can’t wait to see who shows up. We’re sure things won’t go off without a hitch. I mean, hello this is the Upper East Side after all. When does anything go smoothly?

OMG! The wedding is only days away. If you haven’t already checked out Lily’s wedding site you should. There are new videos on it where you can get a sneak peak at the wedding of the season. Also, Lily keeps updating her blog (don’t be too hard on her, at least she’s trying lol. But really there’s only room for one queen of blogging on the UES and that’s moi). And if you haven’t signed the guestbook do it! I’m sure Lily would greatly appreciate it.

Okay, just a few quick updates to let you guys know about some small changes/additions.

I went through this morning and made sure that tags were on each entry (that needed them). As well as added picture posts to the memories. Granted, not ALL picture posts are going to be in the memories, but I did my best to get as many in there as possible. I'm going to try to do it daily/weekly so they are all added by event.

Also- I changed the link color, darker, so it should be easier to view. (I don't know about you, but it was KILLING my eyes!). I also changed the number of entries on our main page to 50, instead of 10. I know there's quite a few who view this as a bookmarked page so now you don't have to keep going back 10 entries. :)

And I added the navigation bar at the top of the page. I'm not a huge fan of them, but there's been some inquiry about a quick link to post to this journal and I figured that was the easiest way instead of going through the main page and all.

the FAQ page was updated with some things that we've been hearing from members.

And please remember that if you have anything to add/comment/suggest, use our Suggestion Box so that we can get to it ASAP.

I keep randomly thinking about writing Gossip Girl/Veronica Mars fic. I've got a few ideas (in a very vague sense of the word). Like random lines will pop into my brain and I'll get a flash of imagery that won't go away. However, it's been years since I've written anything VM and there's always that pesky issue of crossovers having to be plausible (what do you MEAN it doesn't make sense that Veronica Mars' first gig as an FBI agent wouldn't be to stalk UES teenagers and blog about them?). GG/VM is nowhere as crazy as House/Alias or House/BSG so that's a plus? There's a good chance that I'll never write this fic, much like the time I decided after the Heroes S1 finale that it was completely plausible that Nathan would crashland in Princeton-Plainsboro once he'd gotten that radioactivity business taken care of, be wheeled into the clinic, and have a thing with Cuddy resulting in massive levels of awesomeness and pretty. But I like to abuse my paid account privileges by posting polls so...
